When we first saw the "PSN is undergoing maintenance" frustrating message on our PS3 on April 20th, we actually believed it.

When Patrick Seybold, Sony's senior director of corporate communications and social media wrote that "it may be a full day or two", it raised our suspicions that something is not right there.

After two full  days, Sony finally admitted that PSN was hacked and they took it down trying to investigate.

Today, almost a week since the incident PSN is still down.

Sony has not yet disclosed what user information has been exposed during the attack if any.

Yet unconfirmed, but rumors are that the first phase of bringing PSN back to life and rolling out a new authentication system is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, April 27, 2011. And security patches will be released from Thursday, April 28, 2011 to support the new authentication system.
