Sony announced yesterday that "Movies" section of Playstation store has hit a major milestone: it is first of all online streaming providers ready to deliver high-definition movies from all major movie studios, like 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.
It is not announced yet how many titles will be available exactly, but movies available already include :
"This Is It"
"2012"
"The Hangover"
"Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince"
"Zombieland"
"Inglourious Basterds"
"Up"
"District 9"
The availability of live HD content is becoming especially thrilling, considering upcoming Google's deployment of ultra-fast gigabit fiber-optic network for home consumers.
Also, not to forget, PS3's blu-ray player is the only one 3D ready in the market today. According to Sony it only requires firmware upgrade, that shall be released at some point.
