According to the official web site Allegro Media Server does now work currently with Playstation 3:
The Sony PS3 requires a DLNA 1.0 compliant media server and does not work with UPnP Media Servers that are not DLNA 1.0 compliant. A future version of AMS will add this capability.
Our take:
Even if it would work with with PS3, it's not clear why would someone pay $40 for software that lacks even basic features other media servers have. The fact that it only runs together with iTunes makes it even worse.
